Indonesia Srilanka increased social culture cooperation

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in Colombo in collaboration with government and private institutions, as well as the Chamber of Commerce has organized a meeting between Indonesia and Sri Lanka Business Forum on October 9, 2014 in Jakarta, which was attended by approximately 90 businessmen from both negara.Kehadiran number 25, a businessman from Sri Lanka also in momentum attend the Trade Expo Indonesia 2014.

Second Meeting of the Joint Commission continued Bilateral Cooperation (SKB) RI - Sri Lanka has been held at Pancasila Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta recently. The session was led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Dr. RM Marty M Natalegawa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Prof. Gamini Lakshman Peiris. Delegations of the two countries consists of the elements related ministries and institutions as well as private parties.

Reporting from kemlu.go.id, During the meeting, the two ministers discuss and exchange views on bilateral issues which include political and security cooperation, economic cooperation, and socio-cultural, in particular review the status of development cooperation since the meeting SKB first in Sri Lanka in 2012.

For more than six decades, the relationship of political and security cooperation between the two countries have been good and close, which has been underlying the development of cooperation in various fields.

In the field of politics and security, the two ministers welcomed the cooperation that has been going very well, including in the fields of defense, counter-terrorism and combating human smuggling and human trafficking, in particular under the framework of the Bali Process.

Recognizing the magnitude of the potential of the two countries as a maritime country, the two ministers agreed to develop cooperation. The two Foreign Ministers encourage the immediate establishment of an agreement in the field of maritime affairs and fisheries in support of food security, including through the development of technical cooperation.

Related increase in bilateral trade and economic relations, the two ministers discussed efforts to achieve the bilateral trade target of $ 1 billion in 2015.

In addition, be aware of the importance of people-to-people contact in improving relations between the two countries, the Ministers underlined the importance of promoting socio-cultural cooperation, particularly in the tourism sector, education and increasing the frequency of flights between the two countries.
